Happy Mother's Day - How Does OFW's From Abroad Celebrate

You might question how we celebrate Mother's Day taking into account we're not with our families and loved ones. In the Philippines, we observe it every second Sunday for the month of May. Yes, being a OFW, we do celebrate it even it is difficult for all of us because we are far from her for a long time. But why we have to bear this being lonely? Well, we've got no choice; our country's financial condition isn't that excellent unlike another nations around the world. How strong willed are we? How did we survive? How did we endure the being alone and sorrow brought about the separation? What's our secret? Well, I will tell you now.

Well, I'm not too familiar with other countries way of life or traditions, but I personally never found out about Mother's day till I have become an overseas contract worker. I missed my mom too much and only then that I treasured her love and the way she looked after me and for all of my brothers and sisters as well. Through her letters I was able to bear the loneliness of being away from home. Through her guidance and inspiration I was able to complete my very first one year contract.

Maybe you will agree with me that Mother's Day Celebration, is to recognize, respect, and the best part is let her know, let her fully feel your love and affection. We do give some present like sending her flowers, handmade cards, a present coupon and or gift checks maybe. However, these material things are probably not important. What really mean much is your presence to show your love for her. Let her feel that you genuinely care for her wellness and joy and happiness.

Everyday is really a Mother's day personally. It seemed like most people whose mother is staying with him/her should be remembering daily. You do not have to be away from her to understand that. Show off your love for her.

What is the best present that you're likely to give her for this forth-coming Mother's Day?

Most certainly, for me because I am doing work offshore and she's in our home country, I possibly couldn't really embrace her and tell her directly that I love her a lot. Luckily, now we have the technology to send our e-mail by way of Web and Cell phone Cell phones; we're able to post our greetings easily.

To summarize, with this Mother's Day, no material item can take the place of your own presence with your Mom on her special day. There is no doubt about this. I hope I could go on a leave from my work, but I can't at this time. For those OFWs who're slated to take their annual vacation, I really encourage you to see your Mom right away. Spend more time with her just as much as you can. I am certain s he will treasure it more seeing you face-to-face rather then just sending her gifts.

We all know that every day life is way too short, for all the Overseas Filipino Contract Workers out there, when you have not ever went to your Mother for a while these days, try your best to see her on your upcoming home coming. Meanwhile, get your Cell Phone now and send your tender loving proper care emails to them. I wish everyone a very cheerful mother's Day.
